Learning a lot from my first NFT Collection, it was time to do it again, but better.
Seeing a lot of cool 3D collections out there, I wanted to try my hand on one of those myself. Of course I cant compete with those former Disney and Marvel artists, but everyone starts somewhere right?
Some of the things I learned so far:
- Don't rush the release. The most important thing is building a community first.
- NFTs are not about just the art most of the time. Find an utility for your NFTs.
- All the DMs are from scammers. They promise promotion for "good" prices, but in reality all of their followers, comments and likes are fake. Don't waste your time and money.
- Grow your community organically instead. Follow people, talk with them, share their projects, join Discord servers etc. This takes a lot of time, but it should be your main goal.
- Follow the trends, stay updated on NFT News, crypto, anything that will affect your project. For example Marvel announced that they don't want anyone using their stuff for their projects. Bottom line, be original.
In the end, your socials are the key thing for success in the NFT space. It is a lot of work, if you do the art, marketing, socializing, and organizing yourself, but if I can do it, anyone can! It's definitely fun and rewarding, and you will learn a lot.
Another important thing to think about: are you doing it for the art, or for the money? The former ideal rarely succeeds in my opinion. Of course it depends on the project, team, goals and utility of the NFTs, but something to keep in mind.
